Pedestrian Injuries
Each year more than 100,000 pedestrians are involved in road accidents. Of those, more than half result in fatalities. Sadly, children and the elderly represent a large number of pedestrian accident victims. Negligent drivers are often the cause of pedestrian injuries and deaths. Common causes of such accidents include:
- A motorist who is preoccupied and not paying attention to the roadway.
- A motorist who is either speeding or is driving too fast for the road conditions.
- A motorist failing to yield the right of way at pedestrian cross walks.
- A motorist who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident.
