Online tax services allow you to securely prepare your IRS returns from any computer with a Web browser. This option may suit you if you need to access your data from multiple computers, want an accountant to be able to log on to check the numbers, or don’t want to bother installing software.
Keep in mind that extra fees may
apply if you’re filing online with the IRS. If you gross $50,000,
the IRS may charge you up to $35 to file online, but tax software
companies are cutting their own deals.

H&R Block Tax Cut allows free filing if you’re more than 50 years
old. Intuit TurboTax doesn’t charge for e-filing if you’re on active
