Video Conferencing
Technology has greatly improved the way we communicate, network and manage business solutions and relationships.
Tools such as video conferencing (VTC) have changed the way we reach others, providing convenience, efficiency, and a state of the art technological standard for the business world. It is a tool that is becoming the norm, and for a very clear reason – a streamlined utility that provides a self contained hub for business communications.
How It Works
Video conferencing is an interactive technology that provides the ability for two or more locations to connect through both video and audio transmissions by digitally compressing streams in real time. This allows face to face interaction in real time. There are two main VTC options.
A desktop system includes video conferencing devices used as add-ons (hardware boards) to PCs. The add-on works to provide compression and transmission interfaces. Microphones and cameras are used in cooperation with the add-ons to carry out video conferences between PCs.
A dedicated system includes a number of components that are self-contained in a single unit. A video console is used in conjunction with software to provide an audio and video connection with user functionality. A remote control is used to change camera angles, manipulate omnidirectional microphones and interactively optimize video projection.
Incorporating video conferencing technology into your business infrastructure will undoubtedly have a rewarding impact. Ease and convenience, a noticeable reduction in travel expenses, and the functionality of a streamlined, face to face interaction that lets you reach the people you need, when you need them.
